WRAPS

Lots of people ask me about which wrap to buy as I did a lot of research on it and am totally into baby wearing...I have three beautiful wraps that I purchased and one hand made on I use all the time...there are a couple more I want to try out too, but that will have to wait till the next baby...

The above site is my savior resource - the parenting forum saved mine and marcel's sanity a few times, and I bought wraps off the For sale or trade forum. I love this site!

1) my hotsling. I loved this when I got it. Love the design, love the pouch ide etc. The only thing is it was always on the small side, which is nice cus it holds baby in tight and my friend has one on the big side and its useless...but I cant wear it with anything more that a small tee shirt...used in mostly when marcel was tiny - in the mall etc.

2) my gypsy mamma wrap. THis is everyones favorite - especially grandma. Its very soft, long so everyone can use it - mark included. I love it too, although I now want a shorter wrap for back carries as this one can be cumbersome to tie back there. Marcel loves this and cries for it still...

3) my babyhawke. This one I got becasue I wanted to do more back carries, but by this time Marcel was totally into the front carries and cried on my back, so I think for the next babe I will put them on my back earlier. Marcel is just an attention junkie - he gets that from me. This mei tai is really beautifu though...and handy, but I may sell it to get a omnibu or something I can tie a wee on in on my back without them falling out...

4) home made. I was so excited to discover how easy I could make my own wrap. for about 3 dollars I made this. I bought material that didnt fray, cut it into three strips with taperd edges and gave two away. this one I use for a hip carry to this day...definately need more short wraps...(for the next one of course...)

So, in the mid of winter I got sick of trying to find two coats to wear over both of us, so I bought some heavy fleece and made this:

I love this thing, too bad I didnt have it the previous winter, it also has snaps at the top and a big fleece scarf for colder days...Mark says I look like one of the sand people from star wars...cool.

You've got just about every kind of baby sling figured out. I never got the hang of the big, long wrap around cloth, but a good friend of my swore by it. Isabela lived in the sling, and then came Diego who was so big and heavy so quickly that I had to use the baby carrier and the backpack more often to support my back. Great photos.

Yeah, I had a huge baby too, and trust me I havnt got them all figured out yet. Almost destroyed the trust between marcel and me as I chased hime with my kanga all day today trying to see if I could do the famouse Torso carry - sigh...it worked once, but that was it...Im conviced if I can get it right he will just fall asleep like that...
