OK, heres a random side note on the dacha info...
there is a 10 acre lot for sale in prairie alberta somewhere near Red Deer...
for $75,000
OK, ignoring things like laws and town planning...
if we were to build our dacha village...
we could have 75 lots, at 10m x 30 meters deep, (3230 sq ft) thats including room for access roads and parking...
which would mean, if we had 75 people, we could each buy our dacha lot for $1000.00 each...
then we can buy a cute little shack and get planting...bob is definately your uncle!

A similar notion has occurred to me...getting a piece of rural land with a small group of friends/family then building a kind of 'manor' for people to live wherein people would share things (like a kitchen, gardens, dining room, etc.), yet still have a bit of privacy in their living quarters. Maybe a 'rammed earth' house...
