Back carries with a wrap
So I got my new wrap. Its working out great!
so you may remember my wrap post of long ago. From that you may come to the conclusion that I already had enough wraps. Well, you'd be wrong. Actually I am going to sell my hotsling and babyhawk I think, as this one is doing a good job so far.
So, I think once you have wrapped a bit then the back carries are not so scary. I do the Ruck as it is quick and easy to put on, and can be done with a shorter wrap, which is what I like. The wrap I got is an extra small. And its a perfect length.
I found that Marcel was never comfortable on my back as I always had him on my front. This was due to the fact that I didnt have to chase a toddler with him, or tie laces, or pick up thousands of little trucks in the living room. Now I find that having little em on my back is much easier. He is used to it now and falls asleep almost immediately every time I put him up.
There is the fact that when babe is on your back you cant really sit back and relax. So I put him on when I am in the mood to really work, and I tell myself I will keep working (usually house work) while the baby is asleep there. Then I get lots done, and when he comes down we all can relax. I also get my exercise.
So I put him on in the morning after he has eaten and played a bit and is ready to sleep. And then we get to work. It works out really well for all of us. I haven't yet had the courage to tie him up while out in public, but maybe that's yet to come.
To check out info about wraps go to the babywearer and to find out how to tie the Ruck try this link.

Is this an ellaroo? I have one but since Nyla was born in the summer I never got to use it when she was a newborn. I love carrying her on my back in the babyhawk and now thanks to your inspiration, I think I might try her on my baby in the wrap. Any other favorite carries?

yup, you guessed it - ellaroo. I have done the back wrap cross, but you need a longer wrap for that. Its nice carry, but takes longer to tie...I found that tying the Ruck takes a little practice and now that I do it better it is MUCH more comfortable...so stick with it...Not sure if I will keep my babyhawk now...
